This project's aim is to enhance the capacity of players in the Energy sector by creating an eco system that allows for a
coordinated effort in development of talent. As a build up from the first involvement with the HEP SSA, specific training
needs were identified amongst the staff of the generation, transmission and distribution entities that would require
specific interventions, in the form of short courses that would allow for continuous professional development. In addition
Strathmore University is looking to focus on developing a curriculum for the Masters of Science in Power Systems as a stop
gap to the increasing demand for professionals with skills in planning and management of the power sector. A huge
portion of the National development plans for the East African countries are strong on infrastructure but silent on the skill
sets required to make them a reality. It is this gap that we look to fill in this call.
